Viral AI Images Show Explosion at Pentagon

• A false report of an explosion at the Pentagon spread on Twitter on Monday morning. The report was accompanied by an apparently AI-generated image.

• The image showed a black cloud of smoke near a building and was claimed to depict the Pentagon.

• The image was likely generated by artificial intelligence, experts said.

• Major stock market S&P500 briefly dipped on the false reports before recovering.

OpenAI Warns Super Intelligent AI will Arrive

In the aftermath of Sam Altman, OpenAI’s CEO, Senate hearing where he urged lawmakers to regulate artificial intelligence the team has now written a statement on ‘Superhuman’ intelligence.

Here are the 4 key takeaways:

1. OpenAI leadership weighed the pros and cons of trying to stop the development of superhuman AI and decided it was in humanity’s best interest to forge ahead.

2. The potential for AI systems to reach human level (a paradigm often referred to as “AGI,” or artificial general intelligence) or, as OpenAI warns, to exceed even expert-level human capabilities, remains widely debated.

3. OpenAI suggests increased government oversight, involving the public in the decision-making process and stronger collaboration between developers and companies in the space.

4. According to OpenAI, it would be “unintuitively risky and difficult to stop the creation of super intelligence.”

• Adobe Photoshop adds ‘Native Ai’ to their products. This includes ‘Generative Fill’. An almost magical tool that makes working in photoshop much easier, with immediate and incredible results. Read Adobe’s blog here, and test it for yourself in the Adobe Firefly Beta here.

• Microsoft is adding a Copilot AI assistant to Windows 11. It will be open to use from the taskbar across all apps and programs.

  • It can summarize content, rewrite it or explain it.

  • Asks general questions you might usually ask a search engine.

  • You can ask it to adjust settings within Windows to your liking, like “adjust my settings so I can focus”.

  • Testing is done publicly in June, with a rollout to Windows 11 users directly after.

• KaiberAI an all-new developed Kaiber. The focus on storytelling results in a more intuitive layout and fluid use of the app. The most important additions and changes:

  • Storyboard : the new prompt-to-prompt tool. Create dynamic videos with up to 5 scenes using different subjects, styles and camera movements.

  • Kaiber Gallery : share your creations and learn new prompting techniques.
